This will be my first foray into the T de F. Until now it looked rather competitive, which is not how I want to spin. Then I happened upon the Tour de Fleece 2026 FB page and decided that the ethos this page projected was far more my thing. The T de F runs from 4th – 26th July, with two break days.
My personal challenge is to spin for 15 minutes a day. I know that pretty bland, but I am always finding other things to do as spinning seems do indulgent. Not now, I am allowed!
Several of us from the Somerset Guild of Weavers Spinners and Dyers are forming a small group to support each other, which is really nice.
My fibre is an unwashed and uncarded Zwartbles fleece and all I am doing is picking it open by hand before spinning into a thick singles on my Ashford Traveller with the bulky flyer attached. My test spinning will tell me if I need to ply it for using as the weft in a rug. I suspect I should for strength.

However I am also prepping some other fibre in case my first fleece gets completed (ha ha).
