I recently purchased a Louet W70 loom and am struggling with how to tie up the treadles. Do you have any instructions or advice?

    1. Hello Geraldine,
The treadles were directly tied to the shafts/harnesses. We had to disconnect the levers and tie longer lengths of cord (I used Texsolv cord – just the plain one) that reached down to the treadle level, plus enough for tying them on.
We had to drill a hole in the castle and I seem to remember that a new pin (a smooth shaft bolt was used for this) was inserted from front to back in the castle to enable one of the ties to slide smoothly.
8 eye bolts were used. 4 were screwed into the cross piece in the stand to channel the ties downwards evenly, and 4 used on the treadles to tie them up. The treadles were simply pieces of wood. We attached hinges to the front bar of the stand and screwed the treadles to these.
I hope this helps you with your conversion. Any hints and tips you find useful do please pass them on.
      Best of luck.
